Khao Yai is Thailand's third largest national park just a 2.5-hour drive North-East of Bangkok. On the North-side of the national park, there are many resort and meeting hotels popular with week-end tourists and team building groups.

The national park lies on about 900 m altitude and in average a whopping 9 degrees cooler than downtown Bangkok. It contains two camp grounds, which during week-ends may be crowded but during week-days are deserted. This makes Khao Yai national park a perfect venue for team building groups and outdoor leadership training.

This 4-day / 3-night outdoor experiential learning program is ideal for young executives from multinational organizations, with an average age of 40 or below.

Participants go through a series of indoor learning workshops with psychometric assessments, before the program takes them up to the national park. On day two, participants must build their own camp and cook their dinner over open fire, which encourages camaraderie and team spirit.

The team rises early on day three for a scavenger hunt, which includes cycling, trekking through dense jungle and cryptic clues.

Participants go through a rollercoaster of emotions from being agitated and stressed out when they experience obstacles and elated, overjoyed and ecstatic when they finally arrive at their destination.

After a heavy day of little sleep, little food and physical exhaustion, another monstrous challenge awaits the team; the ice bath and breathing exercise.

That's when the real leadership skills are coming to play, and participant's personality is assessed by the trainer.

  • Do participants have the courage and stamina to go through the hardship of stepping outside their comfort zone in such short succession?

  • Who will be able to communicate well with their peers in spite of experiencing mental and physical limits?

  • What kinds of conflicts emerge throughout the trip and how were they solved?

  • How to motivate your teammates when moral is low?

Questions like these (and many others) are discussed thoroughly during the debriefing at the end of the work-shop.
